Had a great, easy stay. Only two things I would like to see improved, the pool really needs to be heated another couple of degrees and the kettle in my apartment was pretty yuck. It had mould or something growing in it and when I got it out of the cupboard and opened it to pour water in the stench was just awful - so the kettle stayed in the cupboard! Overall we had a great 4 day holiday at the Milano suites. However a couple of things would have made the experience better: 1. Earlier gym opening hours. 7am is too late when you have to be out the door by 8.30am for work 2. We stayed over the Easter long weekend and there was no housekeeping. We found Suites Milano very nice but the only thing we didn't like was that the apartment smelt strongly of stale cigarette smoke. Every time we went out and came back into the apartment we could really smell the smoke. In fact the first night in the 2nd bedroom where I was sleeping (the one closest to the door) I could smell cigarette smoke during the night which was not very pleasant. I spoke to the house keeper and she gave me a can of Ambipur spray to use which helped a lot. I had to spray regularly. Apart from that everything else was great. Great location as it is close to QV Markets and major shopping areas. Also handy to trams on Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street within free travel zone. Check in was easy and friendly. apartment was well appointed, clean and had great views of the city from the balcony. We only stayed for two nights yet the room was serviced with beds being remade and fresh towels etc being supplied. Albeit that the apartment block is mainly tenanted by students from the nearby RMIT, our room on the twenty third floor was quiet so we could get a good night's sleep. Staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed in room 1506 and it needs a few things fixed. The toilet flush button was broken, the front of the aircon unit was loose and the trim around the doors was a bit daggy. But nothing that stopped us from having a great stay. Pool was great. I was travelling with my parents and young baby. The staff at Milano were extremely helpful and accommodating as they stored some baby items that we had delivered the day prior to our arrival and arranged for these to be set up in our room.
The apartment was great however the phone and dishwasher did not work and were not fixed during our one week stay. We had ordered a baby cot and this was of really poor quality so we needed to hire one externally. Also the venetian blinds in the bedrooms were broken which made it extremely difficult to access the windows. We would stay here again as the actual accommodation and service outweighed the negatives and the location is convenient to my university, however there were some disappointing elements as outlined above. So helpful in every way never making it seem like it was a bother even though I I know how busy she was.
